Life Cycle Analysis (LCA): metal tight head barrels
Below you can find the reconditioning process of metal tight head drums:

Collection: Used metal tight head drums are collected and returned to the reconditioning facility for further processing.
2️⃣
Inspection: Upon arrival, the drums are immediately inspected and categorized according to their condition and quality.

Approved for chemical reconditioning: The drums are cleaned internally and externally using detergents and high-pressure water. They then undergo several processes, including dent removal, reshaping, drying, and repainting.

Not approved for chemical reconditioning, but still suitable for reuse: The top of the drum is removed, after which it is processed as a smaller open-head steel drum.
The drums are then placed in a furnace and exposed to high temperatures. After heating, they are blast-cleaned to remove all residues. Finally, they undergo various processes such as dent removal, reshaping, and repainting.

No longer suitable for reconditioning: The metal tight head drums are processed into raw material. The recovered materials are then recycled into new products, such as automotive components or construction materials.
3️⃣
Quality Control: The cleaned metal tight head drums are inspected through multiple leak tests, screenings, and quality checks to ensure they meet the required standards.
